Okonjo-iweala Exposes What States Got From Excess Crude Account
A statement from the Federal Ministry of Finance released Sunday night said the it had become necessary to make the figures public following recent accusations by the Rivers state governor on behalf of state governors.
Oil Marketers, Nupeng, Pengassan Call Off Strike
The major oil marketers association of Nigeria (MOMAN) has reached an
agreement with the federal government to begin lifting of petroleum
products across the country “in six hours”.
According to Magnus Abe, chairman of the senate committee on petroleum resources, the resolution was reached after a meeting of MOMAN and the committee with Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, minister of finance and coordinating minister for the economy; Joseph Dawha, group managing director of the Nigeria national petroleum corporation (NNPC) and major stakeholders in the oil and gas sector.
Also, the Nigeria union of petroleum and natural gas workers (NUPENG) and the petroleum and natural gas senior staff association (PENGASSAN) have suspended their industrial actions.

Pulse that the university has never revoked an
honorary degree and does not intend to do so now.
Nigerians who are seeking the revocation of Finance
Minister, Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala’s honorary doctorate
from Yale University might see their aims frustrated
as the institution has no plans of withdrawing the
award.

Breaking News: Tony Anenih Resigns From PDP BOT Chairmanship
The National Working Committee, NWC, of the
Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, said it has
received the resignation of the Chairman of the
Board of Trustees of the party, Tony Anenih.
In accepting the resignation, the NWC noted the
outstanding contributions of Mr. Anenih in the party
over the years especially in his capacity as the
Board of Trustees Chairman.
“As one of the founding fathers of the PDP, the NWC
appreciates Chief Anenih’s guiding role in the party
in the last 16 years and wish him well in his future
endeavours,” the party said late Wednesday.
The party in a statement by its national secretary,
Wale Oladipo, also said “consequent upon the
resignation, the Secretary of the Board of Trustees,
Senator Walid Jibrin holds forth pending the election
of a new BoT Chairman”.
The party said Mr. Anenih resigned “on personal
grounds”.
The PDP has been hit by a wave of crisis since
losing the recent national elections.
Its national chairman, Adamu Mu’azu, resigned
earlier on Wednesday.
The party had said it will clarify on Thursday
whether Mr. Anenih was also resigning as
speculated.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on
Monday re-arraigned a former governor of Bayelsa
State, Mr. Timipre Sylva, before a Federal High
Court in Abuja for fraud involving about N2.45bn.
